What You Will Need:
• 3 different colors of yarn (any type is fine, just note that the final product will look different. I will be using medium weight yarn in White, Pumpkin, Gold and Red all from Caron Simply Soft Collection.)
• Recommended hook size for the yarn being used. (I used an I-9 5.50mm crochet hook)
• Scissors
• Yarn Needle (I use a metal yarn needle, but any one will work)
Abbreviations:
• ch = chain
• ss = slip stitch
• dc = double crochet
• beg = beginning
• sp = space
Instructions:
Final pentagon granny should be around 5″-6″ when finished depending on hook and weight of yarn used.
Foundation Ring:
Using your first color (I’m using White), Ch 5 and join with a ss to form a ring.
(5 sts total)
Round 1:
Using the same yarn color as your foundation ring, Ch 3 (counts as your first dc),
1 dc into ring, [ch 1 (counts as a corner), 2 dc into ring], repeat brackets 4 times total.
Ch 1, join with a ss to top of beg ch-3. Tie off yarn.

Round 2:
Attach your second color to any corner ch-1 sp (I am using Gold).
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), [1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in sp at base of ch-3], ch 1, *[2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc (counts as corner) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1]* repeat *to* 3 more times.
Join with a ss to top of beg ch-3. Tie off Yarn.

Round 3:
Attach your third color of yarn to any corner ch-1 sp (I am using Red).
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), [1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in sp at base of the ch-3 you just created.
*Ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in next ch-1 sp*. Repeat from *to* three more times.
Ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, join with a ss to the top of beg ch-3. Tie off Yarn.

Round 4:
Attach the first color you used for the foundation chain and round 1 to any corner ch-1 sp.
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), [1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in sp at base of the ch-3 you just created.
*[Ch 1, 2 dc in the next ch-2 sp] twice, ch 1, [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in the next ch-1 sp* repeat from *to* 3 more times.
[Ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp] twice, ch 1, join with a ss to top of beg ch-3. Tie off Yarn. Weave in Ends.
